It’s a beautiful scenic journey, and with the museum and the workshops there’s lot to see at the station too. You must try to get there next time you’re on the IOW

Yes, a bit of me wondered if my daughter only ‘went through with it’ for the gift at the end. She’s ever so polite when she wants to be, so you’d never know really. She has a very vivid imagination, and I know she wants to believe – so let her!

I think most steam railways bring Santa down from the North Pole for the winter season – steam, mulled wine and mince pies, what more could you want!

It doesn’t matter how old you are, visiting Santa by steam train brings out the inner child!
