Pets are allowed in all Passenger Areas except the cafeteria half as it is a Food area.
Other then that pets are more then welcome !
And yes the moving Decks are amazing to watch,Just that passengers have stay in their cars till the deck is secured,this takes around 2 minutes max.
If one has pets in the back of the car and needs some extra space to swing open the doors,let the car marshalling crew know.they will make sure enough space is left behind.

Well being based in Southampton there’s other ferry companies to take you across to the Isle of Wight. But I’m more jealous that there’s a LOT of cruise ships docking there every day. I spend a lot of time in Southampton visiting cruise ships – I just wish they’d let me stay on board for a week or two!

I’ve never seen a rising/lowering car deck on a ferry before! It’s a great idea to get more vehicles on board (though neither crossing was very busy)

I live in Southampton so never crossed using this one as it’s further down from us, but it sounds great and such an easy crossing. I’m glad you had a lovely time

I have to say the Wightlink ferry sounds absolutely brilliant. I’ve never come across a ferry company that allows dogs in the general areas. That’s a huge improvement over other ferries, especially for such a short crossing. And I’ve been on one of those moving car decks. It’s a bit scary first time round! Glad you had a good set of crossing with the Wightlink Ferry Company, they sound amazing!

What about a hovercraft? There’s a passenger one that takes just 10 mins to cross the Solent to the Isle of Wight? I’m not sure there’s a flying service to the IOW as it’s such a short distance; take off and landing would pretty much be the same manouvre!

I love ferries – I write about cruise ships, so this is a bit similar! We’ve not been on that many ferries though as we travel in the UK and Europe with the dogs, and we won’t leave them in the car during the crossing

We don’t either … because of the dogs we usually only use the Eurotunnel to France. This was a really enjoyable crossing though, and definitely recommend it
