Wet Head Water Roulette Game by Zing

Wet Head is a game with very straightforward rules. This is great because you can play it straight out of the box. It’s suitable for all ages above 4 – and it’s a LOT of fun.

Inside the box you find a spinning disk, a plastic helmet with a Velcro chin strap, a water reservoir that you clip on the top of the helmet, and 8 long ‘pins’ that easily pop into the holes around the reservoir.

Of course you fill the reservoir with water, place the helmet on Player 1’s head and get them to spin the disk. The dial will land on segments with instructions like ‘Pull 1 pin’, ‘Pull 1 pin and spin again’, ‘Skip turn’, ‘Pull 2 pins’ … Player 1 then carries out the wishes of the spinning disk. Assuming Player 1 didn’t get soaked, the hat is removed after their go, and placed on the head of Player 2. This continues until one of them pulls the pin that releases the water down their neck/back (cue screams and a lot of overacting!)

My two children played Wet Head and what I loved was seeing the nervous excitement when the helmet was passed between them. Obviously it’s a game of roulette, and neither knew which one was going to be soaked – but in the very first game, it really did come down to the very last pin (and my daughter got a good soaking). They loved it, and wanted to play it again, because my son then WANTED to get wet 🙂 Nope – my daughter got soaked for a second time, and at that point she started to lose her sense of humour… It probably would be more exciting if there were more players, three or more ideally.

Wet Head is a great game for when you need to cool down. But equally it has the same level of nervous anticipation as, say, a cream pie splatting you in the face… It covers all ages, so pre-schoolers to grandparents have the same chance of being soaked – a level playing field (so a fab game for Christmas and Boxing Day 🙂 ) We will definitely be playing Wet Head over the festive period … but I hope I don’t get soaked.
