Scriball from Mitre: Customisable Mini-Ball

My daughter ‘took control’ of this item when it arrived to be reviewed.

So what’s in the box? Well there’s a deflated miniball, pre-printed with Zoids characters ready to be coloured in. To do this they’ve included a set of 5 felt pens. There’s also a pump (don’t know about you but we can never find one of these when we need one, so this is a great addition to the kit). Finally, there’s a fold-out stand to support the ball while you’re colouring it.

Let me talk about the Zoids. The Zoids family are one of three families in Series One of the Scriball Universe. There’s also the Ooodles (octopus-like) and the Floopz (pet-like). Like the other families, the Zoids are exceptionally good at football. Zultz is the ‘leader’ of the Zoids and he is known for his tough tackles, mega slides, fearless marking and awesome speed. Oh, and his favourite food is pizza and bricks (not sure if that’s separately or together).

We pumped up the ball, assembled the stand, and handed it to our daughter to colour in. Not wanting to risk smudging the felt pen ink, she has ‘taken her time’ over the last few evenings to work on the ball one colour at a time. And when she finished it looked really good! She’s taken her Scriball for a kickabout on the local field, and even though there’s been a heavy frost and the ground is wet, the colours have held fast. Being a mini-ball, it is super-portable too.

Now we’ve got the first Scriball in Series One we want to collect the Ooodles and the Floopz to complete the set. There will be more exciting characters appearing in future Series too 🙂 You can get your very own Scriball here.
