Remix is Emerald Princess’s club for teenagers aged 13 to 17 years. Aft of Deck 17, adjoining Shockwaves (the club for 8-12 year olds), Remix is a fabulous social space – very on trend and cool, perfectly suited to the teens that visit.
Think Manhattan warehouse crossed with New England Maine – and that sort of sums up the Remix decor. Lots of wood, brick and natural colours alongside brown leather soft sofas and dark wood dining booth areas, topped off with buntings of American team pennants. It’s a really nice space – and our favourite of all three clubs.
Teenagers are often difficult to entertain – in fact for a lot of time (from experience) they just want a place to ‘hang out. Remix allows this, but it also offers enticing activities that many will want to be part of. Hip Hop dance lessons … mixing your own tracks … pizza, mocktails and hot tub parties … teen makeovers … Playstation and Nintendo Wii tournaments … and that’s just a selection!
Foosball and air hockey tables separate the dining booths from the sofas, which frame a dance floor/entertaining area. We spotted a drum kit and guitar – a lot of fun is had with those we’re sure! Oh, and the jukebox! This is a super-comfy area for late night movies too.
One corner of Remix is given over to monitors – the all-important computing/gaming area! It’s not all ‘techy’ though, as there are board games and a bookcase of good old fashioned reading books too.
Outside, Remix teens have their very own area. Here they have use of a jacuzzi and sunbathing area. And opposite the entrance to Remix there’s a small games arcade with ‘Shoot ’em ups’ and car racing. Overall, a place teens will want to hang out and make friends …
