I See Me! Personalised Pirate Adventure book

Having a son who is into pirates is no joke with the continuous demand for pieces of eight, swords and a plea for a parrot as a Christmas present. I can only blame Johnny Depp and Captain Jack Sparrow for our predicament. However in among all the pistols, knives, cutlasses and eye patches we have found a little gem that is educational as well as fun and a great keepsake. I See Me! is a company that specialises in personalised books and they do themes for every child from pirates to princesses, trucks and pets. The book we received was ‘Pirate Adventure’ and it was fully personalised for Toby with a picture of him on the flyleaf, his name and a special message from mum and dad. The book was specially printed for him and carried his name throughout the book along with the family name, pet names as the crew and the ship named after the family home. I don’t think his big sister was mentioned but that is just as well as she gets too much of the lime-light anyhow! They read the book together, several times. Toby so wants to be Captain Jack Sparrow, and I feel he got a taste (the nice bits) of life on the high seas with this special book. He’s shown it to quite a few of his friends too … he thinks he’s famous now because he’s been in a book!

The book was excellent quality (hard back) with around about 20 pages of full colour illustrations and a reading level that would be fine for pre-schoolers and even year ones/twos. It is a lovely thing and would make a great keepsake gift. This is the ideal gift for the obsessed child into pirates, knights and princesses, trucks, space and animals – grandparents take note!
