PLOP! The Cheeky Little Game for All Ages
“Mum, my buttocks just aren’t ready for PLOP!” Ha ha ha …
Let me tell you from the outset – PLOP! is one VERY funny game. But I should say that it’s taken us a while to open the box and play PLOP! … because my children were scared of it! They are 8 and 10 years old, and anything to do with ‘poo’ is HILARIOUS to them … so I just didn’t understand their initial hesitation with PLOP! My son even went so far as to say to me, “mum, my buttocks just aren’t ready for this game!” Ha ha ha …
Explaining what PLOP! is… It’s a plastic toilet that ‘flushes’ when a ‘deposit’ hits the bottom of the basin. A deposit can be either a number 2, or a leek, or a pea, or a log, or a penny … do you get the significance of these items?! The object of the game is to turn a card, which will tell you which deposit you need to hold between your legs and drop into the toilet placed some distance away. It is at this point that the giggles kick in …
Of course, to allay any fears my children may have still been harbouring, I went first. I turned the PLOP! card, it was the penny. So I placed the penny between my thighs and ‘waddled’ my way, a bit penguin-like, towards the toilet on the other side of the room. Both children were belly laughing as they watched me attempt to ‘line up’ over the toilet and then ‘drop’ … aargh I missed! I then returned back to the starting point to jeers of ‘mum, you wee-ed the floor’ … ho hum.
My son played PLOP! second. He got the leak. Having placed the deposit, over he waddled to the toilet, and drop … he also missed, but found it really funny to shout that he’d ‘leaked on the floor’. Oh the toilet humour …
Of course, as is often the case, it was my daughter who managed to hit the PLOP! target first, with her perfect deposit of a number 2!
I believe the object of the game is to become the first person to successfully drop all of the deposits into the toilet. However, we were having such a fun, giggly time just trying to hit the target at all, the results didn’t really matter.
You know, I can see this game totally making a New Year’s Eve gathering … we’ll certainly be setting it up once everyone’s a little bit merry 🙂 And as for my son, well, he’s a converted PLOP! player now – no more fears … in fast the last thing he asked before he left for school this morning was if we could play when he gets home.
