As well as travelling with PackThePJs, I often have to fly and commute long distances with work. In recent years, the convenience of having just cabin luggage, as opposed to larger suitcases, has become really important. This saves both money on the ticket as well as valuable time at the airport. On my latest trip to Europe I used the CabinZero Classic 36 litre as my carry-on and main bag. It is lovely and light at just 700g. It is flexible to easily fit into an overhead locker: the bag is cabin approved with dimensions of 52 x 38 x 19 cm.
The CabinZero has backpack shoulder straps. Not only does this make carrying it easier, but it frees up both hands. This is very useful when walking across a strange airport with mobile in hand trying to contact the driver who should have picked you up an hour ago!
The CabinZero benefits
My CabinZero bag often gets manhandled as I’m dashing between assignments. Advantages to the bag include:
- It is made from high quality waterproof 600D polyester and lined with nylon
- The bag has lockable zippers, adjustable straps and additional side carrying handle
- It has a built-in Global Luggage Tracker, powered by the Okoban baggage tracing system
- The Classic 36L is tough enough for the company to offer a 10-year warranty, which is extended to 25 years if you like them on Facebook 🙂
The multipurpose CabinZero
The ‘Classic’ 36L ultra-light cabin and travel bag is perfect as an overnight bag. It has a large 36-litre capacity, side compression straps, top and side handles, oversized padded straps with air mesh, a front zipped pocket with inside zipped and mesh pockets (for smaller items like battery charging leads). The bag is perfect for a weekend away. It is also perfect if you cycle to the station or to school. It works perfectly well as a schoolbag with plenty of space for books, sports gear and lunchbox.
I occasionally carry my small laptop with me on trips – it fits perfectly, even with my clothes, washbag and work papers. When I leave the laptop at home, I travel with my mini-iPad: The zipped front pocket is great to store this in as it is easily accessible without opening the main compartment.
The Classic range of CabinZero bags comes in a large number of different sizes and stylish colours. Mine is a ‘Blue Jean’ colour (a blue-grey colour). I really like it – it looks professional enough to take into the City, yet is funky enough for weekends away with the family. I use my CabinZero bag a lot. It is very tough, and looks as new as the day I got it.
