If you are a regular reader, you will know that we’re as obsessed with cruises as we are a good cup of coffee! We have been lucky enough to go on cruises as a family several times over the years, and we have a whole section dedicated to our cruise experiences. If you’ve been eyeing up our pictures and wondering if a cruise is right for your family, then wonder no more! Here are five reasons to take the whole family on a cruise.
1. Plenty of Destinations in One Trip
One of the best parts of going on a cruise is that you and your family will get to experience lots of different countries and cultures, all in one trip. You don’t have to worry about getting from place to place, as that’s all covered for you. Once you step onto that boat, you’ll be taken to some of the most beautiful countries around the world. What more could you want?
2. The Entertainment
If you are worried about your children getting bored on holiday then you really must go on a cruise! All of the big cruise companies make sure they have something to cater to every age group, from toddlers to teenagers. Your children will have the time of your life, while you’re sunning yourself on deck.
Some of the most exciting new cruise ships also have activities such as go-karting, laser tag, bowling alleys, and waterparks. There’s no way anyone could be bored on a cruise!
3. Less Stress
The only stressful part of a cruise is getting to the port, depending on where you’re leaving from. Once you’re on the boat, everything is taken care for you. There are no tantrums at the airport, or worse, on the plane. You don’t have to pack and unpack for each new destination, arrange transfers from the airport, or decide which sights to visit each day. A family cruise is stress-free compared to other types of holiday.
4. The Food
Some people worry they may feel restrained in their food choices on a cruise, but that’s certainly not the case. Most cruise ships will have a vast range of dining options for you to pick from, meaning you could have something different nearly every night if you wanted to!
Plus, top chefs and excellent serving staff ensure your dining experience is something truly special. 60% of travellers say they gain at least two kilos on holiday and we have a feeling the majority of these are on cruise holidays!
5. The Variety
A lot of people who haven’t been on cruises before assume that they’re all around the Caribbean or the Mediterranean. However, there are so many different types of cruises that visit a whole array of destinations.
Want to experience the Northern Lights with your family? There’s a cruise for that! Want to explore all that Asia has to offer? There’s a cruise for that too. You could travel the whole world on cruise ships, giving your family experiences they will never forget.
These are just five of the countless reasons to take the whole family on a cruise. Do you have any more to add to the list? Let us know in the comments below.
