What is a cruise without a slice of cake and a nice hot cappuccino or latte? Most cruise ships offer some sort of dessert outlet for after-hours indulgence. Norwegian Cruise Line‘s newest ship, Norwegian Bliss, is no exception with a fabulous offering of cake, ice cream and coffee shops. You can get a great range of coffees and desserts to enjoy as you spoil yourself onboard this great ship.
A familiar brand to most, you’ll find Starbucks® on Deck 6. This is a home-from-home venue and ideal for your essential coffee and cake.
Here you can get a Caramel Macchiato, a Teavana® Shaken Iced Green Tea Lemonade or try a Chai Latte with a scone. There will be something new to try.
Everything you’d expect from a Starbucks®, but with incredible views out the windows!
The Bake Shop
Another great option is The Bake Shop on Deck 8. Here you can indulge your sweet tooth with a range of decadent treats available à la carte. These include French macaroons, chocolate pralines, and cupcakes in all sorts of flavours and shapes and sizes.
Coco’s on Deck 6 is set to become an institution of the late theatre crowd. Simply because anytime is a good time to savour a well-made chocolate dessert!
With savoury chocolate pralines, crepes, coffees and more types of divine treats than days of your cruise, Coco’s is one of the sweetest spots in 678 Ocean Place. Some of the highlights of this chocolate Mecca are the Decadent Brownie Ice Cream Coupe (Sundae), the White Chocolate Tutti Frutti Ice Cream Coupe, the Famous Snickers Bar ‘Freakshake’ Milkshake and the Fudge & Cheesecake Milkshake.
As a treat for two to share a special mention must go to the mini chocolate fountain. And the specialty Estate Grown Hot Chocolate is quite simply a work of art!
Also on Deck 8, and situated near to The Bake Shop at the aft end of the ship, is Dolce Gelato. Here you can discover the real meaning of Italian ice cream or gelato. The gelato is slow churned, dense and intense in flavour and is Italy’s finest ice cream. The Norwegian Bliss version is the perfect accompaniment to a leisurely stroll on The Waterfront. With crisp handmade waffle cones and flavours such as cheesecake, salted caramel, cappuccino, strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and cherry you can’t go wrong. Flavours change on a daily basis with at least three new ones every day. There are also sorbets, such as banana and raspberry, and gelato ice pops. Here you can also get a great espresso or latte.
The Garden Café
Of course, not all decadence comes with an additional cost attached. Each day, in The Garden Café main buffet restaurant you can sample a variety of tasty sweet treats. Especially worth mentioning is the ‘Sprinkles Table’ … after selecting your choice of ice cream there’s a huge array of toppings ready for you – feast your eyes on this!
The above wasn’t available every day, but was a real treat when it was! The Garden Café also served layered dessert slices and tarts, with jelly, sponge, chocolate, cheesecake, custard and fruit varieties. Definitely something for everyone.
