Brik Buster is a block building game from Strictly Briks for ages 3yrs and up. The game, for two or more players is a tower toppling game similar in style to Jenga.
Essentially you build a tower with the bricks provided, which are similar to Lego. Then you take turns with a little plastic hammer (provided) to knock out bricks without knocking the entire thing down. Brik Buster won one of three 2017 Eddy Awards for Best Educational Product. Brik Buster is a game of skill that the whole family can play. You can play by the rules. Or, as we did make up your own rules. Either way, you can keep the kids happy in creative play as they follow their imagination to new heights. Strictly Briks was designed by kids for kids so don’t be afraid of being creative.
The Rules
The game box contains 133 stackable pieces. This is enough to create a five-storey tower.
You can of course build custom designs and shapes with all 133 pieces then challenge a friend to take turns busting bricks out without knocking it down. The bricks are compatible with all major brands of large bricks, including LEGO DUPLO and Mega Bloks brand sets and you can mix and match as you play.
Our Thoughts
We found the game to be quite challenging to set up. This is because the bricks have a habit of disconnecting themselves. The tower must have an ability to be knocked down, because of the very nature of the game. However, we found it a bit frustrating during the build cycle.
The game is addictive and sometimes Toby has gone off with it on his own to build something and knock it down. So, I suppose you could use it as some sort of ferocious, anti-frustration solitaire if you want. Like a stress ball only fiercer.
