Lockdown has been long and arduous and, really, we are not out of it yet. But the trend is to try and regain some normality and make preparations for the end of the year.
The kids have been home from school now for over 12 weeks and most don’t look set to return until early September for the new academic year. One of the issues is that the children keep growing and we still have to obtain uniform and good quality and robust shoes. Of course we still have on-line retail operating. However, you can’t go anywhere to get the children’s feet measured, so who knows what size to order?
Treads measuring gauge
With Toby’s toes threatening to burst through the end of his shoes, Treads got in touch just in time … they have a foot measuring gauge that they’d like us to try out! Result!
How to use
The foot measuring tool looks just like the regular shop ones. It has a gauge to provide a measure of the foot length from heel to the tip of the longest toe in millimetres. There is also a tape to provide a measure of the widest part of the foot from the joint of the little toe to the joint of the big toe. You must do this for each foot. This gives you two measurements in millimetres.
You then visit the Treads website to put the figures into their calculator, along with the child’s gender, and it will tell you what size Treads shoes to order. Some growing room will be added on to provide longevity for your shoe purchase.
