The increasing popularity of family cruising means that there must be entertainment for all. One of the most difficult groups to cater for are teenagers. Many large cruise ships have dedicated teen areas and programs and Norwegian Bliss is no exception. On Norwegian Bliss, Entourage is the dedicated teen area for ages 13 to 17. It is located adjacent to the ship’s arcade on Deck 5. The area is characterised by bold colour schemes, plush lounge furniture, PS4 and Nintendo Switch gaming stations, foosball and air hockey tables and a fabulous dance floor with a reactive neon lighting system.
Entourage Teen Lounge
Entourage features five separate areas containing large screens to play the latest video games while lounging on the comfy sofas. The lounge transforms into a teens-only nightclub with a dance floor, large screen television and video jukebox in the evenings.
The evening club is unsupervised but is under surveillance to maintain passenger safety. Of course, variety is key to keeping things fresh and during the course of a week there are various themes and themed events. These can include College Night, White Hot Party, and Glow. All themes include dressing up, games, prizes, and lots of fun!
Events
Teenagers love their own space and the opportunity to do their own thing. Entourage is ideal for them to hang out in a room filled with video games, movies, arts, music, sports and people their own age.
There is always something going on. The teens can come and go as they please – no need to book sessions. The program is complimentary and there is appropriate supervision or organisation from trained councillors.
Activities
Creative activities include crazy music jams with dancing and singing; or art activities such as creating balloon sculptures, graffiti masterpieces or junk/steam punk modelling. They could also learn circus skills, including walking on stilts, juggling, plate spinning, rope tricks etc. It all culminates in the end of sailing circus performance! The skills once learned could last a lifetime.
There can also be fashion, costume making, drama and film making. For the sports enthusiast a load of games are played including dodgeball, soccer, basketball, cricket and short tennis.
Video Arcade
If all else fails the full sized arcade next-door to Entourage provides all of the latest action games and prizes! This is an awesome area, with games to suit everyone. In here you’ll find everything from motorbike and car racing, to shoot ’em ups, grabbers, air hockey, basketball, guitar heroes … but (yes, there’s a but!) These games all come at a price, ranging between $1.50 and $5 per game. You pay using your room card. It’s really important to establish a daily allowance with your child … you don’t want an unexpected hefty addition to your bill on the last day. It may be possible to impose a spend limit on the room card, so maybe worth investigating. This arcade does look a lot of fun though…
