Don’t worry! This London itinerary is built with young families in mind, allowing you to make the most of your time in the Big Smoke!
Friday
- Drop off your bags at your hotel. If you arrive after check-in, drop off your bags in the room before heading out on your first adventure. If you arrive a little earlier, ask the Hotel to hold onto them for you until you return in the evening.
- Head out on some kind of a tour. Whether you’re interested in a lengthy walking tour or a London Cab Tours, they are the perfect way to kickstart your time in the city. This is because they will provide you with the opportunity to familiarise yourself with the city, making it feel a little less overwhelming moving forward. You’ll also learn more about London’s rich history and culture along the way.
- Enjoy a bite to eat. Once you’ve finished your tour, it’s time to start trying out some of the food that London has to offer. If you’re looking for something quick and simple, visit one of the city’s food markets, such as Borough Market. Alternatively, use platforms such as TheFork or FirstTable for discounted dining at restaurants! Following this, head back to your hotel to get an early night.
Saturday
- Start your day with a walk. Start your day with a walk, starting at Piccadilly Circus and finishing at Westminster Station (or vice versa). This will allow you to tick off many of London’s top tourist attractions in one go, including Westminster Abbey and the Houses of Parliament.
Alternatively, you could visit one of London’s many parks! Regent’s Park is a great choice, as this gives you the chance to visit the Zoo!
- Attend a matinee performance. No trip to London is complete without seeing a West End show, and there are plenty of kid-friendly shows to choose from. This includes classics such as The Lion King and Matilda. You can get the best deals by booking on the day itself using apps like TodayTix, or even stopping by the box office itself.
- Visit Chinatown. China Town is near the majority of West End theatres, and it is the perfect place to enjoy something to eat after seeing a show. Be sure to stop by China Town Bakery to enjoy some sweet treats!
Sunday
- Visit a museum or historical attraction. After a busy few days, spending time at a museum or historical attraction is a great way to finish out your trip! Kids can enter the majority of museums in London for free, and you can get discounted access to attractions such as the Tower of London by booking in advance. Right now, the Natural History Museum and Science Museum are particularly popular with young audiences. Can’t decide which to visit? Let your kids make the choice!
No matter how you choose to spend your time in London, make sure that you focus on what matters most – making lasting memories with your kids!
