Not so long ago I was staring at four walls and dreaming of sun, sand and golf in warmer climes. The recent pandemic has not been kind to the leisure industry. Nor has it been kind to those that like to play outdoor sports such as golf and tennis. The weather is too unpredictable in the UK. So where can one find a place that is warm, friendly and has a fantastic golf culture? I’ll tell you where – Spain; this is the country to go to for golf and all of the social life that goes with it.
Resort properties
It’s not much of a leap to say that buying a golf resort property in Spain is the best way to guarantee home-from-home comforts, with the benefit of the better weather and all the activities. If you pick a well-founded and popular resort, such as La Manga Club on the Costa Calida, you will tick all boxes. You can enjoy many months in your chosen retreat and still get a good rental income for the periods where you cannot use your property. Or you could live there permanently. La Manga Club has an active community of permanent residents, including lots of families from the UK.
Spain is a fabulously diverse country and by choosing your resort wisely, such as La Manga Club, you can explore and become more at home with the Spanish culture and countryside.
La Manga Club
Now I mention La Manga Club because I have been looking at their facilities and properties with a view to buying a small piece of this golfing and leisure paradise. Let me try and explain my thought process. The resort is almost level with Granada on the Mediterranean costa of Spain just down the coast from Barcelona, Valencia and Benidorm. It has fantastic weather and some of the best restaurants in the area. Really it is pretty much perfectly situated with large towns such as Cartagena close by but with enough privacy to suit if you just want to spend a quiet golfing or shopping break. The transport links are excellent with Alicante airport just 70 minutes away by car.
Benefits
But also, with this resort you get the security and support services you might expect from the very finest hotels, with cleaning and maid services as well as 24-hour surveillance on your property all year around. La Manga Club may be famous for golf (there is a golf academy for children and teenagers) but it also has family resort credentials with activities for all ages such as swimming, tennis (there is also a tennis academy for children and teenagers), sailing, windsurfing, horse riding and a whole lot of others.
I believe that La Manga Club is set to be the best real estate investment in Spain. It has history as one of the oldest and best-established resorts in Spain. It has the credentials gained from its fabulous location and facilities and it has the five-star reviews of thousands of satisfied customers. Take it from me – I have done the research and this resort ticks all the boxes. You can visit all year round to play golf and still have some time to entertain the kids with the brilliant leisure facilities, beach and water activities. There is an impressive spa and health club facility, which includes gym, sauna, massage and a load of different treatment rooms and exercise classes. There is something for everyone and when all is said and done you can still get a return via rental fees for part of the year.
