“My name is Denise Key-Tielebein and I am the Project Manager for Harmony of the Seas, Ultimate Abyss. Today we are here at the Wiegand Maelzer facility at Rasdorf, Germany where we are able to see some of the first pieces come off of the production line.”

“I am Professor Brendan Walker, I’m the world’s only thrill engineer. Some people know me as “Professor Thrill.” I’m going to be keeping an eye on the manufacturing process of Ultimate Abyss and finally when it’s installed, I’m going to get to go down it first. It’s quite nice for me.”

“We are really under pressure to get all these different kinds of construction, installation, manufacturing, all together to be in time. The manufacturing will be stainless steel slides and the steel construction itself will be manufactured here.”

“When you look at the CAD drawings, you see the snaking structure going through the ship’s architecture, you think okay, it’s just a slide. When you see these sections here, you really get sense of scale. To get that, and multiply it by all those sections you see, it’s a massive slide I mean I’ve never seen anything like it.”
