Family holidays are, without a doubt, the most difficult to organise of any break or getaway. You’ve got to keep in mind so much. Firstly, there’s the cost of the whole experience and what you’ll do whilst you’re there. Then, you have to make sure that there’s something for everyone to, as well as considering the children’s needs. It all becomes a little bit of a hassle, which is why getting a holiday home is perfect if you have the money.
Holiday homes are essentially a way of taking away all the holiday organisation stress and simplifying the process. Every time you want to go away, you have accommodation that’s paid for. You know where you’re going, how much it will cost and what you can do whilst there. Much simpler than stressing about it each time.
The question is, what type of holiday home works best with your family’s needs? Hopefully, this post will help you decide that.
Static Caravans/Park Homes
Starting with the cheapest of the holiday home options, static caravans are a brilliant choice if you’re on a budget. Contrary to popular belief, you can live in some static caravans and they’ve become incredibly advanced. Gone are the days when caravans were exclusively freezing cold trailers with barely any facilities. Now, static caravans can be extremely comfortable, combining a quaint and cosy feel with your home luxuries.
Park homes like this are perfect as holiday homes because they’re usually located on caravan parks in beautiful areas. Static caravans are almost always positioned in places of exceptional natural beauty. Whether it be the Welsh coast or the rolling hills of Worcestershire, these homes have a calming atmosphere. What more could you want for your family?
The only potential downside is their size. Though static caravans are larger than traditional ones, they’re still not huge. Therefore, if you have a large family, they might not be suitable.
Cottages
The word ‘cottage’ creates a cosy image of an ivy-covered home, nestled in the countryside. Often this imagery seems like a fantasy but there are definitely cottages out there of this description! They’re not cheap though, particularly because they’re usually located in expensive counties like Surrey, Buckinghamshire and Kent.
Cottages usually offer the same facilities and experience as your average home. Their major attraction is the environment around them and where they’re located. Often, they’re situated in quaint villages and towns, very safe spaces for children to explore and run around. Plus, being so close to civilisation means easier travel links for days out to major cities. Check out dealsqueen before you book a holiday cottage, as they have cottage booking vouchers.
The only reason you wouldn’t want a cottage as a holiday home is if you prefer quiet. For the quietest experience, caravans are usually the best option due to caravan park etiquette and rules. Other than this, the price is what puts people off. If you do have the money though, cottages are a great family option!
Villas
Finally, we have villas. These are by far the most expensive holiday home options and are almost always located abroad. Villas are super homes, fully equipped with swimming pools and luxury facilities to keep you entertained. The variety of equipment makes them perfect for children and the beautiful locations just add to the experience.
In general, a villa is a brilliant option if you can afford it but they are exceptionally expensive. On top of this, taking care of the villa adds to the costs. Usually, owners of villas will pay maintenance staff to look after it whilst they are away. All of this makes the whole process more expensive but if you can afford it, it seems incredible.
Hopefully, this has helped you make a family-friendly decision if you’re looking into purchasing a holiday home. Whatever you opt for, it’s bound to work out!
