What a difference a doormat can make! Last summer we broke the rules on our ‘exclusive’ estate and painted our front door a colour that isn’t black. Having lived here for 10 years, we found a black front door just drab and uninviting. We wanted something brighter, happier, and more appealing. So, we picked red. Bright red. It looks SO much better. The front of the house is still a work in progress – I’d like to get some statement plants in large pots either side of the door, and when the weather is better the black gate and railings would appreciate a new glossy coat of paint. Maybe we’ll even change the path, from drab slabs to something more eye catching.

Ding Dong!
In the words of the great Leslie Phillips, it’s near impossible to say “Ding Dong” without attempting it in his posh accent! We love it!
We recently added a video doorbell, that automatically records whenever anyone walks past the house. It’s been really fun watching some people spot the mat and comment on it – they all laugh and point 😊 Well, those of our ‘middle age’ neighbours tend to comment … those that remember Lesley Phillips … and you just know they are reading it in their heads in a posh accent!
The door mat isn’t just practical as a shoe wiper, but it stands out and looks great. It really accessorises our bright red front door. We love our front door mat!
