Have you tried Ringana Fresh Skincare yet? Founded in 1996, it’s a very on-trend Austrian brand that uses only the best, pure, raw materials and active ingredients in their products. Since my cancer treatment, I have been very particular as to what products I use on my skin. Chemotherapy changes your skin texture – it often feels dry and under-nourished. So for the last month, each day I’ve been using a range of Ringana products as part of my daily skincare routine. More specifically, these four items:
Let me give more details about each one.
FRESH cleanser, cleaning milk
RRP £19.91
The start of my skincare routine is to use this product to remove any dirt particles and old make-up. I love that this natural cleanser is COSMOS-certified organic. Full of sesame oil, the cleaner contains lots of antioxidants; green tea extract is gentle and cleansing; and a plant complex of sweet clover, jojoba and ginkgo helps to stabilise the skin surface. Chia seed oil moisturises the skin, and almond kernel oil and grape seed oil pamper it.
I apply it in the morning and at night, on to damp skin. I massage it in, then rinse off with warm water. I then continue my skincare routine by using Fresh tonic pure.
FRESH tonic pure, refreshing facial tonic
RRP £19.66
Usually, I go straight from using a cleanser to adding a day or night face cream. The cleanser often leaves my skin feeling dry and tight, so I over-compensate by using too much face cream, often resulting in looking too ‘shiny’. Now, to hydrate my skin and control the oil in my skin, I use this Fresh tonic pure. It is full of plant extracts bursting with antioxidants, such as an extract from Chinese mulberry tree that regulates excess oil, stops blackheads and is also anti-inflammatory. It also contains zinc (for hydration), maritime pine extract (antioxidants), thyme, cypress, St John’s wort, field horsetail and witch hazel (to strengthen the natural skin barrier) and lemon verbena, aloe vera, and alcohol (to refresh and clarify).
I spray some of the tonic into a cotton wool ball, and gently work over my face and neck, avoiding eyes and mouth. I then follow the Fresh tonic pure with Fresh hydro serum.
FRESH hydro serum, moisturising serum
RRP £44.35
The tonic is cool and refreshing when applied but leaves my skin feeling a little bit sticky. So I counter this by using Fresh hydro serum, which is all about moisturising the skin. By strengthening the skin barrier it plumps the skin, leaving it looking fresh, radiant and restored.
It contains orange and kiwi water to boost hydration; acacia peptides improve the transportation of water in and through the skin; green tea provides a powerful shot of antioxidant to boost circulation; Iceland moss extract forms a protective layer of water.
I apply FRESH hydro serum after using the tonic pure. It is a very fluid, loose, cream – a little goes a long way. I don’t over-use it, as the final step in my skincare routine is to apply Fresh cream.
FRESH cream medium, facial cream
RRP £40.99
What I like the most about FRESH cream (medium formulation) is that it really suits my sensitive skin. Again, a little goes a long way, but it soaks into skin beautifully, leaving my skin feeling fantastic.
Contained within the cream are extracts from the jiaogulan plant (aka immortality herb) – full of antioxidant and skin barrier strengthening properties. Hyaluronic acid regenerates; macadamia nut oil, cuckoo flower oil and baobab oil protects my skin from drying out; extracts from rock rose boost skin moisture; cupuacu, mango and shea butter nourish the skin, leaving it feeling lovely.
I apply a little at the end of each skincare routine, morning and night. I massage a little into my face and neck until it has been absorbed.
Thoughts after a month
For the last month I have added two additional steps into my twice-daily skincare regime. Adding the FRESH tonic pure and FRESH hydro pure increases the process by a couple of minutes, but I think it is worth it. I used to get occasion mid-cycle spots – but I’ve had nothing. In fact, my skin has been flawless. Each product is very soft and gentle so there’s been no adverse reactions when using (rare for me with such sensitive skin). In a few short weeks I am going to be 50, so looking after my skin has become a necessity – I want to look younger, not older, than I am!
Even my hands are soft now, having been pampered each time I’ve applied a Ringana product! After a month the containers are still 90% full, so I’ll definitely continue. In fact, I think I’m going to buy some additional FRESH products, like their deodorant, foot balm and shampoo.
The products may seem a little on the expensive side, but my usual face cream alone was over £80 (Elemis) – so I won’t be going back to that. I’m very much liking the Ringana brand products and I’m going to explore more of their range.
Disclaimer
I was sent these four FRESH skincare products to try out and review. I have tried them for a month, and this feedback is my genuine opinion. I have not been influenced in any way.
