Hairbrushes … I have quite a collection, and everyone in the family uses them. As a result, when I go to find a specific one, it’s been moved and is not where I expect to find it. Taylor Benfield Hand Poured Candle

“Scent of a beautiful memory”

I love receiving candles at Christmas (and birthdays, and any other occasion!) What’s important to me is the scent – it needs to have a good, strong, fragrance. When I took the cellophane wrapper off the box of this Taylor Benfield Spiced Noir Home candle, I was blown away by the strong scent of warm spices and cedar wood. It intensified even more when you remove the candle from the box – it’s lovely! This is a substantial candle, which will burn for 40 hours. 

We also received a Floral and Ginger Travel candle (RRP £12.00). This has a more subtle scent, with around 15 hours burn time. Equally lovely.

Swizzels Parma Violets

Love them or Hate them

Parma Violets were created in 1946 by Swizzels Matlow in Derbyshire. They are sweets based on similar aniseed confectionery traditionally eaten in India after a spicy meal. Their flavour is described as sweet with a soapy or floral taste. In 2016, Swizzels Matlow released a special Parma Violets flavoured cheese to celebrate their 70th birthday. I’m not sure about cheese, but I’ve seen Parma Violets-flavoured gin, and that’s pretty darn good! If you can’t stretch to a bottle, this tube won’t break the bank.
