Lily’s Kitchen Festive Treats
You mustn’t forget your pets this Christmas! My two dogs and cat wouldn’t let me. Roddy cat, even though he’s 11 years old, loves ripping open any parcels lovingly wrapped and placed under the tree. The dogs, given a chance, would steal and shred any soft and crinkly presents. Needless to say we hide all gifts until the night before, then make sure the living room door is kept firmly closed!
All three pets have their own stocking, which are hung on the fireplace on Christmas Eve. They know what they are for as the dogs start running around all excited (they can obviously smell the goodies of Christmas past lingering in the stocking material – Jack and Izzy are springer spaniels, so they have exceptionally good noses!) W’ZIS? Plant-based Dog Treats
Are you a trendy dog owner? Do you have a penchant for designer brands? Well, before we even talk about what the dogs think about this product, I think you’ll be instinctively drawn to them. Why? Well, the packaging for starters. Little screw-top tins that are colourful, quirky, and quite unlike any pet food packaging you’ll have seen before. The treats within the tins are also plant-based – but there’s more too! Each of the little treats are shaped to match the W in the logo and are coloured to match the tins! There’s no brown cubes of beefy-smelling treats here! Quite the opposite in fact. With flavours such as Slipper & Biscuit, Lamp Post & Chips, and Postman & Roast (£6.95 each) – they are the perfect-sized treats for use during training.
So do the dogs like them? I have two English springer spaniels – to be honest, they eat most things they are offered, but there are some treats they aren’t so keen on (insect-based protein ones for instance), but they LOVE these W’Zis?! Doggy Fake News dog toy
It’s not every day that I read a dog toy … No, I mean it! I have actually read this one – it’s a bit corny, a bit slapstick, but it made me smile. “Schnauzer Scientist Proves The Earth is Actually Still Round: ‘Same Shape as a Tennis Ball’ Claims The Pooch”. Kikkerland’s Doggy Fake News Toy (€10.00) is made of a strong, stiff, fabric. It is a plushy – it has soft filling, like a pillow … and it has a squeaker!
It appears well made; this will be put to the test when I get Izzy the springer spaniel to test it out. She can usually shred a toy in under 5 minutes, especially to get to a squeaker. But I think this one will be more challenging for her.
The dog toy is a good size – will suit a small dachshund up to a full-sized labrador. It’s a toy with a difference, so a great gift this Christmas.
Green & Wild’s Festive Gifts
I love this brand. Actually, correction, my dogs and cat love this brand – and it’s all about them really isn’t it! This season’s Christmas gift range is extensive (and very, very festive!) Their Christmas toys, as seen above, are epic. There’s Rudy the Reindeer (£7.99), Bruce the Spruce 😊 (£6.45), Monsieur Bauble (£7.95), and The Holly and the Ivy pull toy (£7.95). For cats, there’s this 20cm Cat Nip Trout (£3.99) that will have them purring their little heads off! Supercat Roddy is 11 years old and has never been into cat toys – if it isn’t edible, he’s not interested. But he came looking for this toy as clearly he could smell it from some distance (I couldn’t!) He was purring like a kitten, rubbing against it and batting it between his two front paws. It was so nice to see!
Dog Dominoes

With the cold weather of winter approaching, and the dark late-night walks, my dogs like nothing better than to get wrapped in a blanket to warm up once back home. (They also want to sit on the sofa, watch TV and be hand-fed treats of sausage rolls and pasties, but that’s another story entirely!)
I have to confess that I don’t like sharing any of my blankets with the dogs. Why? Because they are covered in hair that ends up over me and my blanket. So, they’ve always had their own. Gosh, where do I start with the Christmas offerings from Sniffe & Likkit (I just love their name!) Before I even start to mention the individual items, I must mention that the presentation is fantastic. Everything is really well packaged. It oozes quality before you even open the box, or the cracker, or the stocking … so let’s look at some of these goodies.
